Center Parcs closes 3 holiday villages amid Storm Eunice damage

Center Parcs has closed some of its holiday villages due to damage caused by Storm Eunice.

The holiday company has taken the decision to close Elveden, Longleat and Woburn Forest for February 21 and guests should not travel.

The storm has been "persistent" over the weekend which has slowed the clean-up process for the Center Parcs team, the company confirmed.

It added in a statement: "We understand that this will be disappointing news for those guests who were due to arrive tomorrow but keeping everyone as safe as possible and maintaining our standards is always our priority.

"We do not take the decision to close our villages lightly and we hope our guests will understand why we feel it is necessary to take this course of action."

Center Parcs expects to reopen Elveden, Longleat and Woburn Forest villages to guests arriving on Friday, February 25.

Cancellations or changing dates

Guests due to arrive at Elveden, Longleat and Woburn Forest on Monday will have received a text and email.

Any impacted guests can now either change the date of their break or take a full refund. To speed things up Center Parcs asks that you follow the instructions below:

Step One: Please cancel any activity, restaurant or spa bookings you may have by following the instructions below prior to their start times -

Within 72 hours, though the website will indicate there will be a charge this will not be applied.

If you select a lower-priced break we will refund the difference. If the break you select is higher-priced you would need to pay any outstanding difference.

Sherwood & Whinfell Forest villages:

Center Parcs is planning for Whinfell and Sherwood Forest in Nottinghamshire to open to welcome guests on Monday, February 21.

Sherwood Forest will only accept guests from 4pm on Monday so that they can head straight to their lodge.

Center Parcs added: "Our team have been busy tidying up the forest following Storm Eunice.

"Guests should be aware that Met Office continue to have weather warnings in place for early next week. As always, our priority is to keep our guests and staff as safe as possible and we’ll be closely monitoring the weather and future forecasts.

"Guests should still expect some weather-related disruption such as the possible cancellation of outdoor activities and the presence of some forest debris caused by the high winds.

"The village team will keep guests on village informed via signage and our in-lodge TV communication channel.

"We will of course issue refunds for any missed activities and directly contact any guests impacted."
