Centara appoints new legal chief

Mr Thaschai has been made the senior corporate director of corporate affairs and legal at Centara Hotels & Resorts.

Thailand's leading hotel operator Centara Hotels & Resorts promoted Thaschai Phattanagosai to head the corporate affairs and legal department.

Assuming his new role as the senior corporate director of corporate affairs and legal, Mr Thaschai will continue to work closely with the chairman's office overseeing risk management, sustainability development and anti-corruption policies.

He is also expected to review legal advisory services and draft contracts, agreements and internal policies to ensure compliance with all statutory and legal requirements.

Thirayuth Chirathivat, chief executive of Centara, expressed confidence in Mr Thaschai's ability to move the firm forward.

"I have had the pleasure of working closely with Mr Thaschai for years, and he has proved himself to be a dedicated member of the team with a capability to manage multiple projects and conduct himself in a discreet and professional manner," said Mr Thirayuth.

"I congratulate him on his well-deserved promotion and I have the highest confidence he will thrive in his new role with expanded responsibilities."

Mr Thaschai joined Centara in 2009 in the communications department and worked his way up to executive assistant to the chairman's office in 2018. He received a PhD in tourism, hotel and event management from Silpakorn University. He also holds a master's degree in international business administration from Bournemouth University in the UK.
