The Boston Celtics started their road contest against the Houston Rockets on Sunday night looking like a ball club that did not want to be playing that night. But they managed to put away the Rockets despite a strong second-half push from Houston and a poor shooting night from star forwards Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown.
The front half of a back-to-back, Boston was without the services of veteran big man Al Horford for rest, and it also saw guard Jrue Holiday rest a sprained elbow. Still, Brown managed his first triple-double of the season, finding other ways to influence the game.
Kristaps Porzingis led all scorers with 32 points, and Derrick White snapped a streak of mediocre play with 21 points and a career-high dozen boards.
The hosts of the CLNS Media “How Bout Them Celtics!” podcast took a deep dive into the results of the 116-107 win over the Rockets postgame.
