The Boston Celtics will face the Detroit Pistons when they visit the TD Garden on Thursday (Dec. 28.) As of Wednesday, the Celtics are sweating on the availability of Jayson Tatum (ankle sprain), Jaylen Brown (back contusion,) and Oshae Brissett (illness.) However, Svi Mykhailiuk and Lamar Stevens are both expected to be fit enough to suit up.
The Celtics have just ended a difficult West Coast road trip with a 3-1 record. They defeated the Sacramento Kings, Los Angeles Clippers, and Los Angeles Lakers but fell short against the Golden State Warriors in overtime.
Nevertheless, Boston will need to be mindful of Detroit. The Pistons are on a 27-game losing streak and will be looking for any opportunity to start getting their season back on track. As such, this game has all the making of a “trap game.”

Last season, the Celtics were accused of playing down to their opponent. This time around, Boston has been making a point of executing their offensive and defensive schemes at an elite level, regardless of who they’re facing. The game will tip off at 7:30 PM Eastern on Thursday.
