Just over two weeks ago, Steph Curry set a new NBA record for the most points in a Game 7.
During the Golden State Warriors’ first round series-clinching win over the Sacramento Kings, the two-time Most Valuable Player caught fire for 50 points on 20-of-38 shooting from the field with seven made triples to go along with eight rebounds and six assists.
On Sunday, Curry’s 50-point performance became history as a new record was set during Game 7 between the Boston Celtics and Philadelphia 76ers on Mother’s Day.
Boston’s Jayson Tatum caught fire for 51 points on 17-of-28 shooting from the field with six made triples to go along with 13 boards, five assists and two steals in 42 minutes. With Tatum on his way to a record-breaking performance, the Celtics blasted the Sixers in Game 7, 112-88.
Tatum and Curry are now the only two players in NBA history to score 50 or more points in a Game 7.
