The Boston Celtics came to Miami-Dade arena to face the Miami Heat with a number of their best players unavailable, with Jaylen Brown, Marcus Smart, Al Horford, and Malcolm Brogdon all sidelined with various minor ailments or personal concerns.
They did get big man Robert Williams III (11 points, 8 rebounds) back from a precautionary absence after a teammate accidentally hyperextended his knee, but the Heat would come alive in the second half behind a huge night from Bam Adebayo (30 points, 15 boards). Despite the loss, Jayson Tatum put up 31 points, 14 boards, and 7 assists, and Derrick White had one of his best games of the season with 23 points and 6 assists.
