Celtic winger Mikey Johnston is being linked with loan moves away from the Glasgow giants - including a link-up with a former Hoops boss.
The 23-year-old's deal at Parkhead runs until the summer of 2025 but has struggled to make a sustained impact at senior level over the last few seasons. In Ange Postecoglou's first term in charge last season, Johnston made most of his 20 appearances from the bench but did start their League Cup final victory against Hibs.
It was an improvement on 10 outings the season previous but the winger is now 'set to leave Celtic on loan' according to the Scottish Sun. There are options in the UK and abroad, with one move mooted as Belgian side Standard Liege.

That would provide a chance to get regular games just like Jack Hendry, who rebooted his career with a loan from the Hoops to Oostende, now a regular Scotland international and playing domestically at Belgian First Division champions Club Brugge. Standard Liege are also managed by former Celtic manager Ronny Deila, who will no doubt know all about Johnston's ability.
The Lennoxtown academy product is keen to shake his injury-prone tag.
He told Celtic TV earlier this summer: “It’s been a long summer and I had a few injuries last year. I just want to get off to a good start and cruise through the season injury-free and just get fit and enjoy my football again.
"I just want to enjoy football again, play my best stuff and show everyone how good I actually am.”
