Celtic will win the Premiership title if they come away from Ibrox with three points on Sunday, claims Charlie Nicholas.
Sitting with a three point lead, the Hoops will extend that to six if they win at the home of Rangers.
Their goal difference is also a significant lead.
Nicholas reckons Ange Postecoglou's side will have an unassailable lead should they win this weekend.
Writing for his column in the Scottish Daily Express, Nicholas said: "The Premiership trophy will be heading back across Glasgow if Celtic beat Rangers at Ibrox on Sunday.
"That would leave Giovanni van Bronckhorst's side six points behind their rivals - and with an inferior goal difference of at least 15 - with just six league games to go.
"People are saying Gers can't afford to lose this one and they are right. It is an enormous game for the defending champions."
But Nicholas does not believe that the current disagreement between the Rangers board and fans group Club 1872 will have any bearing on the result.
He reckons the players should be able to blank that out and play the game on the pitch.
He said: "However, claims that the home players could be distracted by the spat going on in the background between the Ibrox boardroom and some supporters' groups is nonsense.
"Football matches aren't played in the boardroom, so that can't be used as an excuse.
"It all comes down to what van Bronckhorst's men do on the pitch as the majority of the pressure is on them to get a result.
"The manner in which they were embarrassed 3-0 at Celtic Park in the last Old Firm derby in early February will have stuck in their throats. However, for a period of that game Celtic weren't exactly fabulous.
"Joe Aribo had a chance at 1-0 and these can be the fine lines between success and failure. Celtic then had a good 15 to 20 minutes and went on to kill off the game.
"Van Bronckhorst changed his tactics that day to try to combat Celtic's unpredictable style.
"But Ryan Kent was awful and they really struggled without Alfredo Morelos."
Nicholas added: "The biggest issue at the moment is whether Morelos will make it. From what I have read, I think he will be fit.
"The striker would have known he wouldn't be starting for Colombia and that he'd be as well returning to Glasgow if he had a slight injury.
"If Rangers have Morelos in their starting line-up then it would be hard to separate the two rivals. I could see it being a score draw, 2-2."
