Celtic 'will listen' to Liel Abada transfer offers as Southampton ready eight figure move

Premiership champions Celtic will reportedly listen to offers for star Liel Abada ahead of the summer transfer window with Southampton ready to strike.

The latest report comes a day after his former president claimed a move to the English Premier League was a near certainty this summer. The Daily Mail state talks over a new deal for the 21–year-old has failed to result in an agreement and a move could be in the offing. Israel international Abada has been a major hit in Glasgow with his eye for the net securing 26 goals during his 18 months in Glasgow. And now the Premier League side are mooted to be eyeing a £10m move for a player who has three–and–a-half years left on his current deal.

Maccabi Petah Tikva chief Avi Luzon said: "I believe he will be sold in the summer to the Premier League. There were talks already in the last window, but he didn't want to be sold.

"They offered him a contract extension and I know he didn't agree, because he wants to be sold. 'I don't know the names of the teams, but there are offers and I believe at a probability level of over 90 per cent that he will move in the summer."

Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou spoke of the need for his side to be nimble in the transfer market at the club's AGM and that proved correct with key contributors Josip Juranovic and Giorgos Giakoumakis leaving in the January transfer window.
