Celtic vs Rangers away fan lockout expected for next two derby clashes

There will be no away supporters at the next two derby matches between Celtic and Rangers.

That's because the Glasgow giants clashed once again over ticket allocations.

The SPFL mandated last season that both clubs resolve their long standing disputes, leading to a five percent away ticket allocation being accepted.

However, Celtic have now informed Rangers that they will not provide tickets for the September 1 match at Parkhead, following discussions with Police Scotland and Glasgow City Council officials.

Celtic had prepared for Rangers’ visit with plans for 2,500 tickets but are concerned about the lack of guarantees from their fierce rivals regarding the necessary permissions for the return clash which is meant to take place at Ibrox on January 2, 2025, but could yet be played elsewhere with Rangers currently renting Hampden Park in the city’s south side due to ongoing development work to the Copland Road Stand in Govan.
