Kyogo Furuhashi and Aberdeen goalkeeper Ross Doohan came together in the opening stages of last night's (Wednesday) Scottish Premiership encounter at Pittodrie, after which the former Celtic stopper was grounded receiving treatment for several minutes.
Play resumed once Doohan was back on his feet, with referee Don Robertson allowing the match to continue without cautioning the Celtic forward.
A former top ref has now agreed with that call.
Despite the vocal upset from the home supporters, as well as suggestions to the contrary from the likes of Bobby Madden on social media, former English Premier League official Dermot Gallagher was certain Robertson made the correct call in the moment.
Analysing the situation on Sky Sports, Gallgher said: "The referee has dealt with it really well because if you look, one player's coming one way and one player's going another.
"They've both got to go for the ball and there's going to be the inevitable collision, there's no doubt about that.
"There's nothing they can do. I think the referee has felt, it's one of those things where they come together, it doesn't look nice but what can he do?"

On the night, it took Celtic until the 78th minute to break the deadlock by way of Reo Hatate who fastened onto a neat Greg Taylor through ball over the top.
After the final whistle, the matchwinner said: "I'm happy to score the goal. It was a difficult game today because of the bad weather and [the fact that] it was an away game.
"Away games are always difficult for us, and the atmosphere is [against us]. It was important to win the game today.
"We tried to play the ball on the ground. The opposing team went long and we had to win the second ball [in the air]. I score goals for the team, but it's important to win the game.
"[The supporters] always sing my song – when I score goals and when I don't score goals, they're always singing songs, so I'm happy to be playing here."
