Celtic are planning on overhauling their Barrowfield training centre in the East End of Glasgow.
The Scottish Premiership champions have applied for planning permission and labelled the plans as a "hugely exciting major redevelopment", with the plans currently under consideration by Glasgow City Council .
The Barrowfield site is used by Hoops' youth teams, who train and play on the pitches day-to-day.
And if accepted, Celtic would have one of the largest indoor football arenas in Scotland as they look to make it one of the country's top training grounds with state of the art facilities.
A statement on the club's website said: "Celtic Football Club today announced that it has applied for planning permission to launch a hugely exciting major re-development of its Training Centre in the East End of Glasgow.
"The intended re-development of the Barrowfield site, located near to Celtic Park, would see Celtic unveil another first class training facility, including one of the largest indoor football arenas in Scotland, featuring a FIFA approved top of the range full sized artificial surface."
A "state of the art" gymnasium, two full sized outdoor grass pitches and two artificial pitches which are also in the plans, and are aimed to compliment the first team's training base at Lennoxtown, as they look to improve their facilities.
A statement submitted to the council by agents Ryden, who are acting on Celtic's behalf, said: "The Barrowfield training ground is used mostly by the club's youth teams for training and matches.
"The existing changing facilities are located at the north end of the training ground adjoining the car park.
"A footpath connects the existing facilities with the three pitches to the south.
"The proposed new changing facilities and gym are to replace these existing facilities as they no longer meet the club's requirements.
"These new facilities will ensure modern fit-for-purpose facilities are available, meeting the requirement of Celtic FC and also importantly football governing bodies."
Architects Holmes Miller add: "The proposal consists of a modest, modern building set a significant distance from the main road, and within a wider recreational area.
"It will have no significant detrimental impact on either existing residents, amenity or traffic.
"Rather the proposal will enhance the facilities on offer at the training ground, improving health and well-being.
"The aesthetics of the facility will be in keeping with other facilities owned by Celtic FC, with a white base and horizontal green stripes intermittently."
