YB sit bottom of the 36-team league with no wins, no points and the worst goal difference of -19 having scored only three goals and conceded 22 in their six games.
However, football was put into perspective after the team discovered Elia's son had died in his Congolese homeland just before the game.
Benito said: "In sporting terms, it was very frustrating. But it is also very difficult to talk about sport now after what we have experienced in the last 24 hours.
"The ground was pulled out from under our feet in the hotel when we heard the news. But we knew we had to come here for the match, we had to see it through.
"When we scored the goal, we all held the jersey of Meschack - a gesture that achieves absolutely nothing, but is of course well-intentioned.
"It was such a brutal situation. You try to do something to show him that you're with him. It's extremely difficult. What happened was on everyone's mind.
"He is part of our YB family. The fact that this happened to him was a terrible shock to us in the hotel.
"In terms of football, we weren't good enough on the pitch, as we have been a few times before in the Champions League. We conceded far too easily."
