It's that time of year that every transfer fanatic knows all too well.
The calm before the storm, clubs across Europe weighing up their hand before the bonkers finale to signing season kicks off. And cool hand signing chiefs across the Continent aim to land a Royal Flush to leave their rivals reeling. Celtic struck gold last season with the arrivals of loan standouts Jota and Cameron Carter Vickers in the final days of the window. The hope more gems will be uncovered this time around.
Scottish Premiership champions Celtic are no different, of course, and Ange Postecoglou has made no secret of his desire to bolster his squad if the right players become available. But that will likely be offset by departures, with the likes of Mikey Johnston, Chris Jullien (more on him later) and Albian Ajeti among the players most likely to exit either on a temporary or permanent basis.
But how are things standing at Celtic heading into the final countdown of the summer transfer window? Record Sport runs the rule over the latest updates to see what comes next...
Edouard Michut
"Yeah, good player, but no". That was the verdict from Postecoglou during pre-season when asked to respond on growing reports the PSG playmaker was destined for Parkhead. The Celtic boss is a straight shooter and transfer games certainly isn't his style, however, the 19-year-old remains a player the Premiership champions admire and his situation remains unclear as he faces an uncertain future with the Qatari big-spenders.
It's understood Michut wants Champions League football and that's something Celtic can offer. Michut is a hot commodity, a France U21 star with first-team appearances for one of the most talent-packed teams in world football. All eyes will be on Michut's next destination as a transfer resolution is sought. This one could run and run, right down to the deadline wire.
Ryan Mmaee
Record Sport revealed in June Ryan Mmaee was admired by the Premiership champions. And now the man who has caught the eye at Parkhead is back in action after an ankle injury had left him on the sidelines since April. The 22-year-old striker is Ferencvaros' star man and their top brass do not want to lose him this summer.
But their resolute stance may be tested after the Hungarian champions were dumped out of Champions League qualifying by Qarabag midweek. Mmaee has a big decision to make as the Morocco international is headed to the World Cup and game time will be paramount in his thinking.
Christopher Jullien
Interest has cooled in the £7m defender since his potential move to Schalke didn't come off. The 28-year-old is not part of Postecoglou's plans and is way down the Parkhead pecking order. Jullien isn't without ability, however, he is in desperate need of game time after struggling for minutes since returning from his horror knee injury which left him sidelined for over a year.
While there's not currently a bustling auction for his services, it could quickly change as teams across Europe if they seek a defender with bonafide experience and an eye for a goal. It may go late but a Celtic exit isn't completely off the table yet.
Alex Collado
The Barcelona academy graduate suffered multiple mixed messages at the Nou Camp but an exit for the talented 23-year-old midfielder appears a certainty. Celtic have been linked but it now appears La Liga side Elche are leading the race for the former Spain U19 star's services.
But, as we all know, transfer season can throw up surprises and a deal is never completed until a player is smiling with his new colours. Collado certainly fits the Celtic profile; raised at a big academy, under 24 and significant potential resale value. But Collado appears to be sticking in Spain for now.
