It's transfer silly season and the Celtic rumour mill is spinning rapidly with the competitive restart looming on the horizon.
Returning boss Brendan Rodgers is jetting his squad out to Portugal for intense fitness work ahead of their Premiership title defence and Champions League group stage football, and the DONE DEAL klaxon has been sounded twice. Odin Thiago Holm has arrived alongside Marco Tilio, but there's been a heavy hitter departure too as Jota makes his move to Saudi Arabia with Al-Ittihad.
But the whispers are beginning to grow louder as fans begin to wonder where Rodgers could make his next move, with one Man United star in need of a new challenge the latest name to reach the rumour radar. But who will be the next to pose with the scarf above their head and who is joining Kyogo and Daizen Maeda in committing to the Hoops cause? We take a look at the latest rumours.
Donny van de Beek
According to 90min, Celtic are one of the clubs who are monitoring the situation of Dutch midfielder Van de Beek. He has spent time away from Man United on loan at Everton, and is yet to establish himself in Erik ten Hag's plans.
It's claimed that the former Ajax boss and the decision-makers at United 'have green-lit Van de Beek's departure from the club, and the player's camp are exploring a new challenge.' A number of clubs in Serie A are on his case, as are Premier League trio Wolves, Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace. Leaving on loan looks the likely way out for now and it is suggested 'Europa League holders Sevilla and Sir Jim Ratcliffe's Nice hold interest, as does Brendan Rodgers' Celtic.'
Callum McGregor
The club captain has signed a long-term extension until 2028, which will see him remain in Hoops until he is at least 35. That will take him into his twilight career years and McGregor couldn't be happier.
He said: "It’s amazing to extend my stay at the club. As I’ve touched on before, this club means so much to me and the success that we’ve had over the past few seasons has cemented that.
“I feel like the club’s in a great place to move forward as well, and when they came and asked me to extend my stay I was absolutely delighted. Brendan’s a top manager and I had the pleasure of working with him before and seeing what he did with that group of players, especially a young, hungry group similar to ourselves, and the way he progressed us and took us on."
Fabian Rieder
Hoops boss Rodgers is reportedly an admirer of the 21-year-old after he helped Young Boys to Swiss title glory. And now the star's agent has had his say on rumours swirling around his client.
A hefty £13million price tag has been placed on Rieder but Bundesliga club Borussia Monchengladbach aren't about to snap him up imminently, according to agent Fabian von Matt. He told Blick: "Not true.
"Gladbach is one of the interested parties, that's right. We are in contact with the club, that's true too. But not only with Gladbach. And first the path must be cleared financially for an immigration of this dimension. In other words: Gladbach has to sell first. Fabian is at the top of the list at Gladbach."
Kieran Tierney
One of the summer's big rumours so far has been talk of a blockbuster return to Celtic for the former left-back. But it's not the odds-on choice according to the bookies. According to Betfair's odds, Celtic are 5/2, with Newcastle out in front on 6/4. Aston Villa, West Ham and Man City are the other clubs in the bookmakers running.
