Zinedine Ferhat could be an option for Celtic again as he gets set to walk out on Nimes.
But Ange Postecoglou may face competition from his homeland if he does want to land the playmaker on a free.
The Algerian was linked back in January and when nothing came of it, reports in France suggested the Hoops were keen on a pre-contract.
He finished the season with Nimes and now finds himself on the market as a free agent.
According to Competition.dz, he has already told the club he's leaving and is hoping for a return to Ligue 1.
They also claim he has agreed to return to Algeria with Mouloudia Algiers if that doesn't happen.
However the report contradicts itself, saying he has not yet made up his mind on his next club with several options on the table.
The 29-year-old wants to play at the highest level he can and the lure of the Champions League may prove tempting.
Ferhat was previously briefly linked with a move to Rangers as a potential replacement for Ryan Kent but the Englishman stayed put and nothing came of the rumoured interest.
