Celtic transfer news as Mehdi Ghayedi price tag named amid fresh Parkhead 'approach'

Celtic are keeping tabs on Mehdi Ghayedi after Shabab Al Ahli set their asking price for the striker.

Ghayedi, who can play as a left winger or second striker, only joined the UAE Pro League club on a five-year deal in August 2021.

But reports in Iran suggest that Ange Postecoglou and the Parkhead scouts were keeping tabs on the striker, despite his agent claiming he was "reluctant" to leave the club.

The Irna News Agency claim that Celtic remain interested in the striker and have been in constant contact.

A £3.5 million price tag put on the attacker if he is to leave the club Middle East this month.

Elsewhere, Zinedine Ferhat's club Nimes do not intend to allow the midfielder to leave the club this month.

The midfielder is looking for a way out of the Ligue 2 side and has refused to train after entering the final six months of his contract.

Objectif Gard will keep the Algerian on their books despite interest from Celtic, St Etienne, and clubs in Turkey.

South of the border, the door appears open if the Premiership title hopefuls want to snap up Lee Buchanan.

The Daily Mail report Derby players have today been told to speak to the club’s administrators if they want to leave Pride Park.

The 20-year-old is out of contract in the summer, with the club having an option to extend. However, boss Wayne Rooney cannot be activated due to the club's current financial state.
