Celtic have reportedly made an enquiry about signing previously linked Joseph Okumu, according to the player's agent.
The towering Kenyan was linked last summer while playing for Elfsborg, but things frittered out after Ange Postecoglou was appointed and he joined Belgian side Gent instead.
He had an impressive season there though and one year on he's once again being linked with a transfer.
His agent, speaking to People Daily , claims they are interested in reviving a deal this summer alongside Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund.
However he claims it's Dortmund who have made the first move.
"We've had informal interest from Arsenal a Scottish giants Celtic, but Borussia Dortmund is the first to make an official inquiry about Okumu," the unnamed agent is quoted as saying.
"He's open to a move if an agreement is reached."
Okumu could be viewed as an alternative to other centre-backs who have been linked in recent days, such as Taylor Harwood-Bellis or Ko Itakura.
Any move would be independent from their negotiations with Cameron Carter-Vickers, who Record Sport understands has agreed personal terms on a permanent return to Celtic Park.
He's expected to join winger Jota who is also on the brink of making his loan deal permanent.
Record in Portugal claim a deal has been struck with Benfica to bring him back and only personal terms now stand in the way.
But it isn't believed that will delay the deal for too long as Postecoglou looks to get the bulk of his squad together early doors.
It's been quiet on the outgoings front although fringe men Albian Ajeti, Vasilis Barkas and Boli Bolingoli seem likely to be shifted.
But one valuable asset who may have substantial interest is 20-year-old Liel Abada who comes off the back of a phenomenal breakthrough year.
He's been talked up for a move south of the border and the CIES Football Observatory recently named him as one of the most talented young players in Europe.
They recently published their list of teams of the season across the continent's top 32 leagues and Abada was the seventh youngest player to be included among more than 300 of Europe's top performing stars.
Speaking earlier this month, Abada's Israel teammate Manor Solomon advised him to move to a "bigger league" than the Scottish Premiership and it seems likely he will get the chance sooner rather than later if his form keeps up.
He told Sport5 : "He's been an amazing success. I was very happy for him when he went to Celtic.
"I thought it was the right place for him and we can see that this season. For a 20-year-old player in his debut season to make such a campaign it is amazing.
“This is just the beginning. I hope to see him on bigger stages than Celtic."
