Celtic striker Albian Ajeti could earn a chance to rejuvenate his career at former club Basel with a familiar face ready to facilitate it.
The 25-year-old has endured a torrid time in Glasgow's east end since arriving in a £5m deal from West Ham in the summer of 2020.
Ajeti toiled with injuries last season and has been reduced to a bit-part role under Ange Postecoglou during the current campaign.
But an exit chance has presented itself with the Swiss big-hitters believed to be keen to bring back their former star.
Ajeti was free-scoring during his time with Basel and former youth coach Patrick Rahmen, who worked at the club's academy when the forward was on the rise, could green light a return.
The Switzerland international hasn't played for Celtic since suffering a significant hamstring injury during the thrilling 3-2 win over Real Betis on matchday six of the Europa League.
Meanwhile, Boli Bolingoli faces a game of patience to secure his exit from Parkhead.
The Belgian left-back is way down the pecking order and hasn't turned out in green and white since the 2-0 win over Motherwell back in October.
The Daily Mail stated finding a new club for Bolingoli remains very much on the Parkhead to do list before the window closes on Monday night.
Meanwhile, Conor Hazard admits he remains set on forging a career as Celtic's long-term man between the sticks despite joining HJK Helsinki on a long-term loan deal.
He said: “My ambition is to be Celtic’s number one, so until the day I am told otherwise, I’ll be here competing for that jersey.”
