Celtic transfer bulletin as Vinicius Souza two horse race emerges and Ryan Mmaee earns a new suitor

In demand Vinicius Souza now faces a straight choice between Celtic and Fenerbahce, according to reports in Turkey. It comes as Lommel appear to have resigned themselves to losing the Brazilian this summer.

Ange Postecoglou is in the market for midfield reinforcements after losing Tom Rogic and Nir Bitton. Vinicius has been talked up as the ideal replacement and partner to Callum McGregor in the engine room.

So far Lommel have played hardball over the 23-year-old but a bid of £4.3m is expected to be enough to pry him away. That seems like a reasonable price given his age and contract status and while no clubs have yet come to the table with an acceptable offer, it seems the Belgian club are close to signing a replacement in 19-year-old Metinho.

That opens the door to potential suitors and Sporx report it's now a straight shootout between the Hoops and Turkish side Fenerbahce for the Brazilian's services. They also claim, however, that Fener are also eyeing up William Carvalho and Danilo Pereira, and may want to explore those options first.

Elsewhere striker Ryan Mmaee has been linked with Celtic throughout the window with a new striker also on the agenda. It may not be a top priority with Giorgos Gialoumakis and Kyogo both proven goalscorers but the drop-off beyond those two is stark, with Albian Ajeti the only senior option available.

Ferencvaros hitman Mmaee was tipped as one solution but it now seems Lens are lining up a deal for the 24-year-old. That comes as they are set to land a £22m windfall by selling Cheick Doucoure to Crystal Palace, and could put the cash to good use by landing Mmaee.

Heading in the other direction, Christopher Jullien continues to be linked with a move to Schalke despite talks reportedly breaking down. The French defender is surplus to requirements at Celtic, although the door to a Jullien career revival may be slightly ajar after the Hoops missed out on Taylor Harwood-Bellis , who joined Burnley on loan from Manchester City.
