Celtic transfer bulletin as Jordan Larsson rumours escalate and Ladislav Almasi 'targeted'

Celtic are the "most likely" destination for free agent Jordan Larsson , according to reports in Russia.

Larsson, son of Parkhead hero legend, is looking for a new club after his contract with Spartak Moscow was torn up amid the conflict in Ukraine. His career has gone off the beaten track over the past 12 months or so but he fired 15 goals in 30 games in 2020/21 and, at 25, he has time on his side to start firing again.

Celtic have long been linked due to the emotional connection with the Larsson family and he's previously admitted it would be a "dream come true" to return to Parkhead, where he spent many an afternoon watching his dad as a kid. However he's also on record as being reluctant as he wants to step out of his dad's shadow and write his own story. The timing just might be right though as Larsson finds himself as a free agent just as Ange Postecoglou is on the lookout for a new stri ker.

RB Sport in Russia claim interest from Europe has cooled in the Swede, with Celtic now the "most likely option." Another striker who could be on the agenda is towering Slovakian Ladislav Almasi . Rumours circulating on social media claim the 6ft4" hitman, currently playing for FC Banik Ostrava in the Czech Republic, is being targeted by the Parkhead club as Postecoglou looks to add to his attacking ranks.

Celtic are due to face the Czech side on Wednesday and Almasi is likely to play a major part, having fired 16 goals last season. The Parkhead side have already added Alexandro Bernabei and Benjamin Siegrist this summer, as well as striking deals to keep Jota and Cameron Carter-Vickers at Parkhead. But Postecoglou isn't stopping there as he declared in an interview with Sky Sports that he wants "two or three" more.

He said: "We're still looking to bring in two or three players. There's still a couple of areas where we need to strengthen up and we'll do that. The challenge is to improve irrespective of what happened last year. If we didn't win the title, we'd be looking to improve to try and win it."

In addition to a new striker, central midfield reinforcements are high on the agenda and another Argentine in Fausto Vera has emerged as a potential target. That comes with Vinicius Souza seemingly set to join Espanyol.

Israeli midfielder Mohammed Abu Fani also remains a live option after Record Sport exclusively reported he was being scouted earlier in the window. His agent Dudu Dahan reminded Celtic what he's capable of when he shared a video of Abu Fani’s best moments for Maccabi Haifa earlier today.
