Celtic are reportedly set to reject Rangers' request for away fan tickets for the next derby encounter between the sides.
It's understood Rangers will look for 800 tickets from the Parkhead club for the next meeting between the teams during the festive period on December 30.
That comes after the Ibrox club offered Celtic the same allocation to their supporters for the first derby fixture of the season at the beginning of September.
The Scottish champions knocked back the offer of those tickets, with the game being played in front of home supporters only. Rangers felt they had carried out the essential checks and implemented necessary measures to ensure the small travelling band of Celtic supporters would be safe inside the ground.
So from their standpoint, they believe their offer should be returned by Celtic for the next game.
However, the Daily Mail claims this will not be the case and that Celtic will knock back Rangers' request despite the Ibrox side being keen on having their fans in attendance.
It comes as the report states Premiership sides are considering a fresh proposal to guarantee a certain amount of tickets for away fans across the league.
The SPFL's Rule i27 could well be tweaked in order to achieve this by top flight clubs.
The rule states: "The home club must make provision for the admission of such reasonable numbers of visiting supporters at every home league match."
The proposed changes to the regulation would remove any dubiety over the current wording and allow for clarity over exactly how many fans could attend away matches.
The vote will go ahead on January 22 next year with 11 clubs in favour required for any new resolution to pass.
UEFA's current rules see five per cent allotted to travelling fans but a minimum threshold of 2.5 per cent for stadiums in excess of 30,000 in Scotland has other Premiership clubs hopeful Glasgow's big two could be in favour of reform before it potentially goes to ballot next year.
