New video footage has shown the damage and litter left by Celtic fans in Glasgow after thousands celebrated the club's title win.
The Hoops were crowned Cinch Premiership champions on Saturday at Parkhead after beating Aberdeen 5-0. Fans then turned the streets of the east end of Glasgow green and white with banners, flags and flares, assembling at Glasgow Cross.
Police confirmed 10 people were arrested and three were seriously assaulted – one man, aged 31, remains in hospital in a serious condition. And footage shared with Glasgow Live shows fans left a trail of rubbish in their wake.
The footage shows police officers standing in the middle of the Gallowgate as fans sit at the side of the cross, while others had clambered into the mercat cross at the junction with High Street. On the Trongate, hundreds of fans can be seen in the square that divides the street in two at the Cross.
Streets in the area were closed in anticipation of fans marking the club's premiership win, with police remaining on the scene throughout the day and into the night. Police Scotland has since slammed the behaviour of some Celtic fans as "unacceptable".
Superintendent Gerry Corrigan said: "Thousands of Celtic supporters gathered in the area of Glasgow Cross for several hours to celebrate their team's achievement. Working with partners, a proportionate policing plan was in place which facilitated the gathering, prioritised public safety and sought to minimise disruption to businesses and communities.
"Throughout the day, there was an unacceptable level of anti-social behaviour and incidents of disorder. Police officers took swift and robust action to prevent these escalating.
"Three people were seriously assaulted in three separate incidents during the event. A 31-year-old man remains in a serious condition within Queen Elizabeth University Hospital after being attacked.
"Two other men, aged 33 and 19, were treated at hospital after being assaulted and have since been discharged. There were 10 arrests for a number of other offences including assault, acts of public disorder and police assault following the event.
"No police officers were injured. A further eight people were issued with fixed penalty notices.
"Eighteen people sustained minor injuries, mainly due to intoxication. Enquiries into all reported incidents are ongoing."
