Celtic team to play Hibs in Scottish Premiership confirmed

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has confirmed his team to play Hibernian in the Scottish Premiership this afternoon.

The Parkhead side travel to Easter Road aiming to bounce back from their narrow Champions League exit at the hands of Bayern Munich on Tuesday evening.

From that 1-1 draw in Bavaria, Rodgers has made three alterations.

His team can move 16 points clear at the top of the table with a victory in Leith before Rangers kick-off against St. Mirren at Ibrox later this afternoon.

Despite having a poor record at Easter Road in his initial Celtic spell, Rodgers has won on his last two visits to face Hibs.

Adam Idah's penalty brace was enough over a year ago. Callum McGregor and Nicolas Kuhn then both scored for the Premiership champions in a comfortable 2-0 win earlier this season.

Today will be the first of two meetings between Celtic and Hibs in the space of a few weeks, with the sides due to meet in the Scottish Cup in just over a fortnight.

Confirmed Celtic starting XI: Schmeichel, Johnston, Carter-Vickers, Trusty, Taylor, McGregor, McCowan, Engels, Kuhn, Maeda, Idah.

Subs: Sinisalo, Scales, Jota, Yang, Schlupp, Kenny, Hatate, Ralston, Bonnar.
