Celtic team news v Dundee United confirmed as seven changes made alongside Carter-Vickers call

Ange Postecoglou has named his side to face Dundee United as Celtic look to stretch their lead at the top to seven.

Celtic will return to league action at Parkhead today as they return from their final European outing of the season. A 5-1 defeat in the Bernabeu to Real Madrid capped off their Champion League campaign, which despite promising displays ended with Scottish champions finishing last in their section with just two points to show for their efforts.

The Hoops will look to bounce back on league duty today as they welcome the side they demolished 9-0. The Tannadice mauling of the Dundee club was followed up by a 4-0 win over rivals Rangers as Celtic hit sizzling early season form. With the Ibrox club not playing until tomorrow, Celtic have a massive incentive to climb seven points clear at the top should they defeat Liam Fox’s side, with boss Postecoglou expecting a tougher opponent this time round.

Cameron Carter-Vickers returns to the starting XI after a minor injury and he partners Moritz Jenz ahead of Carl Starfelt.

Jota also returns to the starting line up, with Giorgos Giakoumakis looking for similar to Kyogo Furuhashi, when he went on to haunt the Terrors after his hat-trick heroics in that 9-0 demolishing.

Speaking ahead of the match Postecoglou said: "We’ve had games where we’ve created more chances than on that day and we haven’t capitalised.

"I’ve no doubt, they’ve had a bit of change since then and they will come here and make it difficult and we have to be ready for it.'

“Our form has been very strong and if we continue that then we’re hard to stop.

“We’ve had a disappointing result against St Mirren, but our performances aside from that have been really strong and we just need to continue that until the break.

“We have three important games and two are at home, we’ve only had five homes games so far, so we’ve navigated that well.”

Celtic XI: Hart, Ralston, Carter-Vickers, Jenz, Bernabei, O'Riley, Hatate, Turnbull, Jota, Giakoumakis, Haksabanovic.

Subs: Siegrist, Taylor, Starfelt, Mooy, Kyogo, Abada, Abildgaard, Maeda, Forrest.
