Celtic suffer Rangers injury concern as Ange Postecoglou confirms fresh worry ahead of Hampden showdown

Celtic midfielder David Turnbull is in a race against time to be fit for Sunday's match with Rangers after the Wishaw ace picked up another injury.

The Scotland international grabbed an assist during Saturday's convincing 7-0 win for the Hoops over St Johnstone in Premiership action.

While keeping them six points ahead in first place with five games to go, it's come at a cost for the former Motherwell playmaker.

Turnbull is only just back from a hamstring injury that has ruled him out of action for most of 2022, but a new concern has emerged ahead of facing Rangers this Sunday.

It's a huge game for Celtic as they look to move past their Glasgow rivals and into the Scottish Cup final.

Parkhead boss Ange Postecoglou, speaking to Celtic TV, has confirmed that the Lanarkshire native is being assessed ahead of this weekend.

He said: "David Turnbull, he obviously got a pretty hard knock.

"It's only a couple of days after so we'll see how it all settles down.

"I'm hoping it's not too lengthy an absence."
