Celtic stars miss out as Scotland squad for Turkey friendly announced

Scotland boss Steve Clarke has named his squad for this month's friendly away to Turkey - and three Lanarkshire players have received call-ups.

The Tartan Army have a trip Diyarbakir to look forward to on Wednesday, November 16 as Clarke's men start preparations for next year's Euro 2024 qualifying campaign and fans could get a first glimpse of Calvin Ramsey following his big move to Liverpool from Aberdeen, with the 19-year-old receiving his maiden call.

Arsenal star Kieran Tierney, from Muirhouse, has been called up alongside Bologna midfieler Lewis Ferguson, of Hamilton, with Cambuslang native and Norwich City midfielder Kenny McLean also in the 23-man pool.

Motherwell goalkeeper and club captain Liam Kelly has also been given the nod by Clarke.

There is no place for Celtic stars Anthony Ralston and David Turnbull, of Bellshill and Wishaw, respectively, with the Hoops competing in the Sydney Cup in Australia during the Premiership shutdown for the World Cup.

The squad in full is as follows:
