Celtic stars given hero's welcome at Parkhead as players take in party atmosphere

Celtic's players were given a hero's welcome as they arrived back to Parkhead in full party spirit after clinching their second Scottish Premiership title in a row at Tynecastle.

A sea of green and white greeted the team as they came out to show their appreciation to the supporters after beating Hearts 2-0 in Edinburgh this afternoon.

Footage showed thousands of Celtic fans on the Celtic Way and outside the Main Stand waiting patiently for the team bus to arrive back home from Edinburgh.

However, it is believed with such a large crowd outside the bus could not come up to the front of the stadium through London Road and had to come in through the back. Green smoke thick in the air from pyro, the fans rejoiced as the players stepped outside to receive the adulation.

After posing for pictures on the pitch, Ange Postecoglou led his players out onto Celtic Way to greet the throne of jubilant fans as his players took in the scenes. The manager appeared from the stadium first and greeted the crowd with his simple phrase ‘we never stop’.

The team posed together next to the statue of Jock Stein before flooding their social media pages with pictures of the scenes.

Joe Hart took a selfie with a sea of supporters behind him, simply commenting: "Amazing". He also shared a video of the crowd chanting along as fireworks were left off and green pyro smoke filled the air.

Immediately after the game the manager said it had been a 'wonderful day' that will be celebrated 'all over the world.'

He said: "This is another wonderful day for our football club, champions of Scotland again, and I know this achievement will be celebrated by Celtic supporters all over the world.

"Crowned as back-to-back Scottish Premiership winners – it sounds good doesn’t it!

"These are the moments I wanted to bring to you, moments when we celebrate all that is great about Celtic, when we see all our hard work deliver the success it deserves.

"And our success is the culmination of an enormous amount of hard work put in every single day by everyone at the club – the players, coaching staff and all of our colleagues who work at Lennoxtown and Celtic Park."
