Celtic starlet Rocco Vata in 'advanced talks' over transfer exit as fee revealed

Rocco Vata is in advanced talks over a Celtic transfer exit, according to reports.

The 19-year-old is said to be in discussions with Watford over a switch down south this summer.

Vata - who played twice for Celtic last season - is out of contract but new terms are on the table at Parkhead.

However, there has been significant interest in the youngster with Serie A clubs and sides in England linked with possible transfer swoops.

Now, according to Sky Sports, Watford are leading the race for Vata with a four-year deal on the table and the teenager having met club representatives on a visit to their London facilities.

Should a deal be agreed between Vata and Watford, then Celtic would be due a £237k compensation fee.

Journalist Anthony Joseph reports: "Watford are in advanced talks with Celtic forward Rocco Vata.

"It’s understood the 19yo has visited the facilities & met with club reps.

"Watford are offering Vata a four-year deal.

"Celtic would be due £237,000 in training compensation if he joins Watford."

Vata's father Rudi recently addressed his future on Off The Ball, saying: "I always felt that you need to build your first house in the place that you are born and in the place that you learn the ABC of football.

"And he has done that. He has gone through the alphabet, going through all the stages. I think and I always thought he can do it there (at Celtic) and he can make it big.

"I remember Rocco, he's been different since he was born, a different child. I have another boy, nephews I've seen children playing and being around the house - I think he's been unique since he was born.

"I think God chose him for his own reason and I think he realised that because I always told him 'God has given you something very special, just work on it'.

"I think his attitude, his mentality, he builds up those things that I always told him to work hard, to build up the mentlaity, the chracater and pesonality.

"He built those three things and those three things nobody can take from you. I think now he's ready to get to first team football and explode his talent.

"And hopefully it'll be at Celtic. But until it's done, you never know."
