Celtic star Jota tipped for one of Europe's top clubs as 'incredible' numbers hailed by ex-Hoops man

Scott Allan believes Jota can join one of Europe's top clubs if he keeps developing at Celtic.

The fans' favourite made a huge impression on loan at the club last season from Benfica and Ange Postecoglou shelled out a big fee to land the tricky attacker on a permanent basis. He has picked up where he left off last season with a goal in the season opener at Aberdeen before providing three assists in the win over Ross County in Dingwall.

His importance to the Hoops was underlined once again and he is bound to play a major role in any success heading to Parkhead this season. Celtic have already reached the Champions League group stages after winning back the title from Rangers last season and they will be looking to make a splash in Europe's premier competition alongside domestic matters. Former Celtic and Hibs star Allan is a huge fan of Jota as he hailed his 'incredible' numbers.

He also reckons he is one who will only get better and better and is certain to end up joining one of Europe's elite clubs.

Speaking on the Sky Sports coverage of the Hibs vs Hearts Edinburgh derby, he said: "In terms of numbers, he’s the player to get the ball to because when he’s on it you know something is going to happen.

"And he’s got that thing the Celtic fans love - that bit of arrogance on the ball. Another three assists, his numbers are incredible.

"He’s a player who is only going to get better and if he keeps developing he’ll end up at one of the big teams in Europe."
