Celtic star Josip Juranovic hailed but Rangers' Borna Barisic handed 'constantly injured' tag by Croatia boss

Croatia boss Zlatko Dalic has hailed Josip Juranovic as he labelled Borna Barisic with a scathing 'constantly injured' tag.

The Celtic full-back played in for his country in all four of their fixtures during the international break including a stunning 1-0 win over France in Paris.

Ange Postecoglou recruited the right-back as part of his Hoops rebuild and he helped them recapture the Premiership title from Rangers and lift the Premier Sports Cup.

His international boss has been quick to hail him as he swapped over from his natural position to the left-hand side - like he did for his club side on occasion last term.

Speaking to Croatian outlet Sportske Vovosti, Dalci said: “We don’t care any more (about injuries at left-back).

“Sosa and Barisic are constantly injured, but I will not worry much about that anymore. We have Juranovic, we have a solution.

"Both stoppers and (Josip) Stanisic played very well (against France), but not only them but also Juranovic at left back.”

Juranovic arrived in Glasgow for a reported £2.5million fee from Legia Warsaw.

The 26-year-old has settled into life at Parkhead with his versatility key to the Hoops.

Looking back on the season, he said: “At Celtic, I played thirteen games at left-back because our left-back got injured.

“The coach asked me if I could play on the opposite side, and I answered in the affirmative because anything is possible for Croatia.

“Fatigue? I have two difficult months behind me because I was out of action for six and a half weeks due to a hamstring injury.

"I came to the roll call, did two workouts and was immediately on fire for ninety minutes and so on until the end. I’m very tired, but let’s move on.”
