Celtic star hails 'unbelievable' Hoops factor and the Ange Postecoglou element that's made it 'better than I’ve ever seen'

Coatbridge's Stephen Welsh says he's living the dream at Celtic - and a high calibre of training is helping contribute to that.

The Scotland u21s international is on course to claim a Premiership winners' medal after the Hoops moved nine points clear in first place with a storming 7-0 win over St Johnstone on Saturday.

While he hasn't played a league match in 2022, the 22-year-old has made 22 games in all competitions this term.

Welsh - a product of the club's youth system - has been impressed by the intensity of training boss Ange Postecoglou has implemented in Glasgow.

Amid the final five-game stretch of a title race and chasing a treble, the Lanarkshire ace says his team are hitting top form at the right moment.

The defender told Celtic TV: “It is a privilege to come and train at Lennoxtown every day.

"There's a lot of young kids who aspire to be footballers, and that's what I did too.

"I think the training intensity has gone up a notch. Training this week has been solid. The intensity has been unbelievable. The quality has been even better than I’ve ever seen.

“That’s perfect for us. We’re going into the last few games of the season.

"Hopefully we’re hitting our peak right now. If you’re hitting your peak in April, who knows what we can do?"
