Cameron Carter-Vickers has withdrawn from the USA national team squad with the injury that ruled him out of the defeat to St Mirren.
The ever-present Celtic defender was not included in the much-changed team that went down 2-0 in Paisley as Ange Postecoglou shuffled his pack with six changes. It didn't pay off with the Hoops losing their 100 per cent start to the league season and also their long-standing unbeaten run that was just a day shy of running past the one year mark.
Speaking pre-match about the absence of the defender and team-mate Josip Juranovic, Postecoglou told BBC Sportsound: "We've got good cover. Cameron [Carter-Vickers] pulled up a bit sore the other day while Josip [Juranovic] has played a lot of football. Tony [Ralston] is ready to go so we are comfortable with that."

The USA national team have now confirmed his withdrawal from the squad with what they call a 'minor' injury.
A short statement read: "U.S. Men’s National Team defenders Mark McKenzie and Erik Palmer-Brown have been added to the BioSteel USMNT Training Camp roster ahead of the upcoming pre-World Cup matches against Japan and Saudi Arabia.
"The duo replaces Cameron Carter-Vickers and Chris Richards, both of whom are sidelined with minor injuries."
Celtic's defeat at St Mirren means the gap at the top of the table is now down to two points after Rangers' win over Dundee United at Ibrox on Saturday.
Antonio Colak grabbed a double to secure a much-needed win for Giovanni van Bronckhorst's men after a run of three consecutive heavy defeats.
