Steven McLean has come under heavy fire for deciding to award a red card to St Mirren defender Richard Taylor as 'insult to injury'.
Celtic were unanimous in their victory against the Buddies but struggled to get out of second gear in the first half. A late flurry of goals off the bench saw Hyeon-gyu Oh strike first before Reo Hatate netted a deadly double and Matt O'Riley got in on the act to sink Stephen Robinson's men and allow the home side to book their place in the Scottish Cup quarter-final.
VAR was involved once again when Liel Abada's powerful shot was blocked by the hand of the Buddies defender, and after consulting with the monitor, McLean awarded a penalty to the Hoops and Taylor saw red. At the other end Mark O'Hara slotted a consolation penalty past Joe Hart after Carl Starfelt tripped Greg Kiltie.

But the decision to send off Taylor irked Queen of the South boss Marvin Bartley, who when analysing the call on BBC Sportscene, said the people making said laws haven't 'played the game'.
He told BBC Sportscene: "It's unintentional. This is the problem.
"The people making the laws haven't played the game. Yes, it's hits his hand, it's slightly behind him, but there's no way you can tell me that is intentional and the fact he gets a red card is insult to injury.
"That isn't acceptable. That is not a red card any day of the week."
