Celtic squad revealed for Rangers as Tom Rogic fitness leaves Ange Postecoglou with derby hero dilemma

Ange Postecoglou has a chance to stamp Celtic 's authority on the title race against Rangers.

But he has some big calls to make over who he will select to lead the charge at Ibrox.

Tom Rogic is back in contention having picked up a knock against Ross County which forced him to miss Australia's international fixtures.

Having already netted five goals against Rangers during his Celtic career, he could be the difference-maker in the Premiership title fight.

Daizen Maeda is in contention after shaking off a knock picked up while on international duty, with talisman Kyogo Furuhashi also available.

James Forrest is the only player missing from the squad having failed to recover from a niggling muscle issue in time for the clash.

Going into the crucial game, Ange Postecoglou was playing his cards close to his chest: “Kyogo has trained and has had this week of being integrated with the team, which he’s pretty happy about.

“With him, it’s just a matter of seeing how he responds to training and I’ll make a decision on his involvement for the weekend.

“Maybe this weekend isn’t the right time for him. I haven’t made that decision yet. But he’s definitely training and is available, so that’s the first bit. Now we’ve got to see how he copes with our training on a daily basis.

“The only one that’s definitely ruled out is James Forrest, who still had a bit of a niggle so Sunday comes maybe too quickly for him."

Predicted Celtic XI

Tom Rogic may be a fitness gamble, but his derby day experience could make all the difference in the Ibrox cauldron. Expect him to start ahead of Matt O'Riley on this occasion.

The raw pace of Liel Abada could also be preferred ahead of Daizen Maeda at Ibrox, with Abada proving he is a player for the big occasion on European nights during his short Celtic career so far and of course scoring in the last derby.

While Kyogo is fit, in-form Giorgos GIakoumakis is more likely to be given the nod.
