Celtic squad revealed as Reo Hatate selection call sets midfield reshuffle in motion against Hearts

Boss Ange Postecoglou is facing a big call over the Celtic midfield engine room as the Scottish champions welcome Hearts to Parkhead.

Reo Hatate returns to the squad after missing two games with a minor knock as he looks set to make his first Scottish Premiership appearance since the opening day of the season. David Turnbull slotted into the starting line-up alongside Matt O'Riley and captain Callum McGregor for the victories over Kilmarnock and Ross County, but the Scotland cap could drop to the bench for the Japan cap.

Stephen Welsh is also back to full fitness having missed the last two matches through illness, while Moritz Jenz has recovered after limping off in rout at Rugby Park. However, Carl Starfelt could return in defence though after ramping up his fitness behind the scenes as he looks to reunite with Cameron Carter-Vickers after their successful partnership at the back last term.

Left-back Alexandro Bernabei is available for selection after being arrested over an alleged road traffic offence in Glasgow, but is unlikely to make his first appearance of the season in the starting XI. First-choice Greg Taylor has been among the standout performers at Parkhead so far this season and will look to continue that form against Hearts.

Up front Giorgos Giakoumakis has been pushing for a starting spot, and his first goal of the season after climbing off the bench in Ayrshire will have only helped his cause. Kyogo has been deadly once again in front of goal, and Postecoglou is likely to allow him to add to his two goal tally for the season from the start.

For Hearts, Craig Halkett looks to be the biggest loss for Robbie Neilson. The centre-back picked up a hamstring injury in the midweek Europa League defeat to FC Zurich, and the Scotland call up faces a race to be fit for the second leg at Tynecastle.
