Kyle Ure has signed a two-year contract extension at Celtic, keeping him at the club until June 2027.
Ure, 19, has been a standout talent the club’s youth ranks, rising through the Lennoxtown youth academy system to make a significant impact on the field.
In 2023, the central-midfielder captained Celtic’s Under-18s to a thrilling Scottish Youth Cup victory, where they triumphed over Rangers in a dramatic 6-5 final at Hampden Park.
Making the step up to the B team, Ure has continued to impress with his consistent performances in the heart of midfield. His contribution was key during Celtic’s successful campaign in the UEFA Youth League, where he played in all six group stage matches.
With the Hoops now preparing for their knockout tie against RB Salzburg later this month, Ure will be hoping to play an influential role as the team seeks to make further strides on the European stage.

The new deal signals a major step in Ure’s promising career at Celtic, with the Scottish Premiership giants clearly invested in his development as part of their long-term plans.
However, his extension also brings attention to the ongoing challenge for young players to break into Brendan Rodgers’ first-team squad.
Despite the talent coming through the academy, opportunities for youngsters to feature in the senior side have been few and far between, with Rodgers’ preference often leaning towards established players in key positions.
The likes of Ure, along with others in the youth setup, will be hoping for a chance to prove themselves as the club continues to aim for success both domestically and in European competitions.
