Celtic supporters are gaining confidence over Cameron Carter–Vickers sealing a permanent deal after the Premiership champions saluted his USA return with a knowing hashtag.
The 24-year-old is technically a Tottenham player once again after his loan deal in Glasgow expired yesterday but he will be on the move again with his future up in North London.
Record Sport exclusively revealed Carter–Vickers has agreed personal terms with Celtic as the clubs continue to discuss a long-term deal.
But Celtic supporters felt a sense of relief after the club tweeted their best wishes with the hashtag '#InternationalCelts'.
Carter Vickers will cost Celtic £6m with the deal including add-ons which will see that figure rise.
The defender was a rock last season under Ange Postecoglou and forged a formidable partnership with Carl Starfelt.
He was a nailed-on starter and won over supporters with no-nonsense displays and his eye for goal.
And no goal was more vital than his winner against Rangers at Ibrox which all set in motion their title triumph
The lure of Champions League football could likely be too much to turn down despite several suitors in the English Premier League.
One fan wrote: "Celtic gonnae lighten the mood and say he's been signed?"
Another replied: "Announce contract."
Before a third fan added: "stop teasing admin."
