Celtic sell out remaining tickets for Rangers clash after away allocation dispute

Celtic have sold out their remaining tickets for the upcoming clash against Rangers at Parkhead.

The fixture will once again see no away supporters for the fourth league meeting in a row between the sides amid an ongoing dispute between both clubs.

Rangers hit out yesterday after the SPFL were unable to enforce a league rule that a "reasonable" number of tickets must be allocated for visiting supporters.

Celtic then responded by citing "safety concerns" among the reasons for refusing entry of Light Blues fans and they also stated that they "welcome the opportunity to resolve the issues" in the future.

Away allocations were reduced, firstly at Ibrox and then Parkhead, at the beginning of the 2018-19 season to just 700 fans and had remained that way until last season where the number then dropped to zero.

This has freed up at least 700 extra seats for home fans at the December 30 fixture and they have quickly been snapped up.

Meanwhile, pundit Gordon Dalziel reckons Celtic's underperforming stars are putting manager Brendan Rodgers "under pressure".

The Hoops recently lost 2-0 to Hearts at Parkhead, their second league defeat on the bounce, as their struggles continue domestically.

And Dalziel has conceded that he has found some of the 50-year-old's team selections baffling.

Speaking on Clyde One Superscoreboard, he said: "First and foremost some of the games they have played, some of the team selections have been a bit baffling for me.

“He’s changed one or two like Kyogo trying to come in and play a bit deeper. I think everybody looks at that and thinks that Kyogo is most dangerous playing on the shoulder and would make those runs.

“I think if you look at the players like Taylor, for instance, last year, even Johnston at full-back they’ve not hit the heights.

"And when that happens then the manager comes under a bit of pressure. And you look at the substitutions for instance at the weekend which baffled me as well.”
