The numbers have been crunched and Premiership clubs have been given an estimate on where they lie when it comes to the world's best.
Celtic and Rangers are undoubtedly Scotland's top two and their Champions League group stage involvement this season only cements that. Hearts are emerging as the undisputed third force with Aberdeen and Hibs vying for such position, while the rest look to climb the ladder as high as they can, like David Martindale's European-chasing Livingston.
New research from Opta has allowed a Power Rankings list on nearly 13,500 domestic football teams to be published, rating them from 0 to 100, where zero is the worst score. Bayern Munich, Man City and Liverpool make up the top three and you have to reach slot 57 to find Celtic on a score of 85.4. Rangers also make the top 100, coming in at 84 on 83.5. It's a long way down to find Hearts, however.
453 is where Hearts are found, while Livingston's shrewd work sees them enter the top 1000, ahead of clubs like Birmingham and Cardiff City. It's where Aberdeen and Hibs would like to be, but they fall outside that bracket.
The Easter Road club are just outside it in 1018 but the Dons are down in 1116th spot behind St Mirren and Dundee United too. Ross County are the only team in the top flight to fall outside 1500 territory, but only by one.
Perhaps gallingly for the Dons too, Scottish Cup shock troops Darvel are in at 12647, after they dumped them out at the fourth round stage last week. The full list of Scottish clubs from up and down the divisions can be found here.
Rankings are rated using an Elo rating system. After each game, rating points are exchanged between the teams depending on the result and whatever the home team gains in Elo, the away team loses in Elo (or vice versa).
