Celtic 'scout' Rapid Vienna winger Nicolas Kuhn as Brendan Rodgers eyes signing

Celtic are reportedly "interested" in Rapid Vienna winger Nicolas Kuhn.

This is according to the Scottish Sun who claim that the Hoops "have been scouting the 24-year-old"   as a potential option to upgrade the squad in January.

The report also claims that the "the Austrian side would be looking for up to £2million for the player".

Kuhn joined the Austrian Bundesliga side from Bayern Munich 18 months ago and previously a part of Ajax's academy.

He has three goals and six assists so far this season.

Meanwhile, Celtic still have a chance of signing Brondby forward Mathias Kvistgaarden in January.

This is according to German outlet TZ which claims that one of the other clubs interested in the 21-year-old, Schalke, will struggle to afford the £4million quoted to sign the striker.

Kvistgaarden provided seven goals and seven assists for his club before their winter break.

Brondby director of football Carsten V. Jensen explained after the summer window that the club would have to be  "blown away" by any offers for the player.

He is reportedly a player Brendan Rodgers' side are interested in, with Kyogo Furuhashi being the only striker left at the club after Oh Hyeon-gyu joined up with South Korea at the Asian Cup.

The 50-year-old previously stated that "one or two" players could be arriving this month.

He said: "The players will get a little bit of time - they need that. They’ll have a break to maybe spend a wee bit of time with their families.

"They’ll have some work they need to do while they’re away but it’s a good chance to reset before going again.

"We have a spell without any games before we play in the Scottish Cup. So we can do a lot of work in that period.

"We’ll hopefully have some of the injured players back and maybe one or two in the door. Then we push on for the second half of the season.

"There will be no winter break next season and that’s a real shame."
