Celtic's Rangers win was outstanding, but we can take points from them, says Well star

Nathan McGinley says Celtic's were outstanding in last night's 3-0 win over Rangers, but Motherwell can take points from them at Fir Park on Sunday.

A Reo Hatate double and a strike by Liel Abada had the Parkhead giants 3-0 up by the interval as they knocked Rangers off the top of the Premiership table, ahead of their visit to Lanarkshire.

But although he was impressed by Celtic, McGinley points out that Motherwell are a top side who are also riding high in the Premiership table ahead of the visit by Ange Postecoglou's men for the lunchtime kick-off.

And he says boss Graham Alexander drums it home to the players that every single game they play is winnable if they do the right things.

McGinley expects a tough game, but says the Steelmen's focus will be on what they do, rather than worrying about Celtic's strengths.

The 25-year-old defender said: "It was a top performance by them [against Rangers] and a great result. Especially in the first half they were absolutely outstanding, and we know it's going to be a really tough game, especially if they play like that.

"But we've just got to focus on what we do, and hopefully we can do something in the game.

"It's important to go into these games thinking we can win them.

"One of the things the gaffer has properly instilled in us is that every single game is a winnable game.

"We go into every game going for three points, we're not going to go and sit down to Celtic.

"They're a top side, but so are we, and we've got a chance to do something on Sunday."

McGinley added: "We've got to focus on us, really. We've got a way of playing, we get at teams, we go and press on the front, so I hope we can do that.

"If we do that and we're right on it on the day, we can come away with something.

"All the pressure is going to be on them, so we can go out and play our own game.

"We've just got to focus on what we do, we've got to keep playing how we've been playing, pressing, and we just have to focus on us."

Former Middlesbrough and Forest Green Rovers star McGinley admits he relishes games like these, but hopes Motherwell can give their fans something to cheer about.

He said: "It is what it is, Celtic, and they're a top side, but we've just got to see what we can do.

"Games like these are great, you love playing in front of the fans, and it's quality. I really enjoy it, you love the occasion and it's massive.

"Your friends come up, and things like that and it's just a great day, you really do enjoy it.

"It's a massive game, hopefully we can put a performance in."
