Ange Postecoglou insists James Forrest has a 'big part' to play at Celtic this season.
The Hoops winger has already been restricted to just two substitute appearances in the first five league games of the season against Kilmarnock and Dundee United, with further competition arriving at the club in latest summer recruit, Sead Haksabanovic. The likes of Jota, Liel Abada and Daizen Maeda can all operate on the flanks as well as Mikey Johnston - with his immediate future still unclear amid talks of a potential loan departure.
Scotland international Forrest was handed a three-year extension from the Aussie boss who reiterated just how important he is to the football club. He is one of Celtic's most decorated players and is motivated to continue to do well, with Postecoglou delighted he remains part of his group.

The games are set to come thick and fast for the Hoops, with Champions League midweek nights set to kick-off next week alongside domestic matters. The Scottish champions have enjoyed the luxury of one game per week up until now as the squad gets set to be fully utilised in the coming months ahead.
The Celtic gaffer told Open Goal: "He's a great guy and he's great for this club. You need guys like him and that's why we re-signed him last year.
"He's still very much a part of the club and even though he's not played a lot of football yet this season, he'll play a big part in what we're trying to do. When you're building a football team it's not just about the team itself.
"It's about the people you've got in the building and how you build a culture. Culture to me is people, if you've got good people in the building then you don't have to worry about things and he's a really good one.
"He's had a great career here and he's still really motivated to do well so I'm pleased that we're able to have him as part of the group."
