Kasper Schmeichel 8
Extended his Parkhead contract to 2026 in the morning and helped them reach the promised land of the Champions League knockouts by night. A third European clean sheet of the season for the Dane, who made a pivotal double save on the hour mark.
Alistair Johnston 6
Rarely tested one-on-one but dealt admirably with a notable few Young Boys crosses into the back post. Always keen to get forward, too, and link up with his partner in crime Kuhn on the right-hand side.
Cameron Carter-Vickers 7
Calm at the back for the Scottish Premiership champions and an accurate distributor of the ball from the back. His calamitous error last time out at home in the Champions League against Club Brugge is now a distant memory.
Auston Trusty 8
Read the game well and remained a sound partner for his fellow countryman at the back. Trusty has more than bounced back from his nightmare at Dens Park just a week ago.
Greg Taylor 6
Won a penalty for his side towards the end of the first half and like his fellow full-back Johnston, didn't have much threat to deal with on his respective flank.
Callum McGregor 9
An outstanding display from the Celtic captain who made several driving runs from the heart of the midfield to bring his team up the pitch. A typically energetic performance
Reo Hatate 7
Inconsistency has plagued the Japanese midfielder this season although he came up with a moment of magic to set up his side's winner, threading a maserful pass in behind the opposition backline.
Arne Engels 7
Usualy Mr. Reliable from the spot, Engels missed his first penalty in green and white five from the break. Aside from such a nightmarish moment, Celtic's record signing was industrious in midfield, creating several opportunities for his side. Was widely applauded as he came off on 69 minutes.
Nicolas Kuhn 6
Other than a few characteristic forays to the inside right channel, the German winger had a relatively quiet game. Picked up a first half booking for a cynical foul.
Daizen Maeda 6
Ever willing to run in behind Young Boys' backline and a constant source of energy for his team yet received the third red card of his Celtic career for a supposed kick out after his team went one up.
Kyogo Furuhashi 6
Had a hat-trick of goals disallowed in the opening 45. Simply wasn't the forward's night and he came off with 15 to go for Idah, which proved to be an inspired change.
SUBS
Paulo Bernardo 4
Not as much of an impactful substitute appearance as Brendan Rodgers would have liked.
Alex Valle 5
Defended well when he came on and willingly offered his attacking services on the left flank.
Adam Idah 7
Long been the centre of criticism this season but came up with a mammoth moment off the bench, racing in behind to force an own goal off Young Boys captain Loris Benito.
Liam Scales 5
Came onto shore up Celtic's backline after Maeda's red card and stuck to his task well.
