It was a thrilling lunchtime of derby action as Celtic salvaged a point in Govan thanks to Kyogo Furuhashi's late leveller.
Ange Postecoglou will be relatively pleased his side did not drop points in the title race, as his side remain nine points ahead of Rangers at the top of the Premiership table. But he may have seen the match as a huge opportunity wasted to go 12 points in front and effectively seal the title.
Celtic went ahead through Daizen Maeda after capitalising on a wayward Alfredo Morelos cross-field pass. But two quick-fire Rangers goals from Ryan Kent and James Tavernier from the spot turned the game on its head. But Kyogo smashed in a close-range equaliser to send the 700 Hoops fans wild inside Ibrox to maintain the nine-point gap at the league's summit.
Here is how Record Sport rated the players from the derby today.
Celtic player ratings
JOE HART - Joe Hart Gave the Celtic fans tucked in the corner a major fright when his clearance was blocked but redeemed the situation with a superb save. Also didn’t have a lot to do but had no chance with the goals. 6
ALISTAIR JOHNSTON - A surprise starter and understandably looked a little nervous in the first half. Grew into the game and used his strength to cover counters. 6
CAMERON CARTER VICKERS - Comfortably dealt with a lot of the balls coming forward in to the feet of Rangers frontmen. Got a little more ragged after the interval but wasn’t helped by his partner alongside having an off-day but a brilliant stop to block Malik Tillman effort late on before Hoops leveller. 7
CARL STARFELT - Was coasting it for half an hour but then started to lose the plot a bit. Gave the ball away as the momentum shifted and then daftly dived in to concede the penalty for the second. 5
GREG TAYLOR - Made a bright start and linked well with Maeda in the early stages. Has been struggling with a hamstring injury though and he was unable to continue after 20 minutes. 3
CALLUM McGREGOR - One of the few Celts who was cool on the ball and was completely dominant in much of the first half. Needed a bit of help after the break but desperate to drag his team back into it. 7
REO HATATE - Along with McGregor was a driving force for his side. Unlike some, he was slick in possession and always looking to make forward passes. 7
MATT O’RILEY - Showed some neat touches and picked his passes, but another one who got a little sloppy in possession and faded as Rangers took charge after the beak. 5
JAMES FORREST - Plenty of Old Firm experience and got into good areas. Too often was wasteful with the ball in the final third though and eventually replaced. 5
DAIZEN MAEDA - Celtic’s vulture pounced on the loose ball inside the opening five minutes and had the cool head to tuck past Allan McGregor. Clearly caused Tavernier problems but Celtic strangely stopped his supply line. 7
KYOGO - Was having something of a stinker for 87 minutes as he struggled for service and took a fresh air swipe in the opening period. But kept working away and pounced late on to level. 6
Substitutes
JOSIP JURANOVIC - Seemed to be suffering from a World Cup hangover as his passing was off and he Went AWOL for the equaliser. 4
AARON MOOY - Gave Celts a more solid look as they tried to find a way back into the game. 5
LIEL ABADA - Added pace and threat down the right almost immediately. Another one who perhaps should have started. 5
JOTA - Thrown on late but class did help carve open Gers for the late leveller. 5
GIORGOS GIAKOUMAKIS - Tried to throw his weight around and give Ibrox defence something to think about. 4
Not used: Bain; Kobayashi; Bernabei; Abildgaard.
