Celtic are reportedly lining up an end of season tour of Japan with Ange Postecoglou and his team set to face off against a trio of European heavyweights.
The Scottish Premiership leaders will hope to have the trophy in their cabinet when they make the trip to Asia, with Japanese outlet Sponichi stating that plans are in the works for clashes against Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich. Boss Postecoglou is highly regarded in Japan for his achievements with Yokohama F Marinos, and the potential fixture list would see have five Japanese players return to their homeland.
Japan internationals Daizen Maeda and Kyogo Furuhashi would present a potential box office attraction, while Yuki Kobayashi, Reo Hatate and Tomoki Iwata will also look to catch the eyes of supporters. PSG had a tour of Japan last summer and look set to return this summer at the end of the current campaign to give Celtic a tough test as they ramp up their preparation for the new campaign.
The tour follows on from the Sydney Super Cup, which saw Postecoglou take his side for a mid-season test in Australia. The mini-tournament format is set to be implemented again.
