A Rangers fan left a Celtic physio scarred for life when he threw a bottle during an Old Firm match.
Alan Crawford, 33, threw it from the west enclosure at Ibrox and it hit Daniel Friel on the head.
Daniel needed four stitches and has been left with a scar on his scalp.
Married dad-of-three Crawford pled guilty yesterday to assaulting Daniel to his severe injury and permanent disfigurement on April 3, 2022.
Sentence was deferred until next month, pending background reports, but Sheriff Tony Kelly warned: “Custody is at the forefront of the court’s mind.”
Glasgow Sheriff Court heard Daniel had been sitting next to the away dugout and felt a thud on his head.
Prosecutor Jennifer Gilmour said he then “saw a small bottle lying on the ground”.
She added: “He put his hand on his head and realised there was blood coming from an injury.”
Daniel was treated by club doctor Ryan Connelly for a 4cm (1.5in) wound.
Miss Gilmour said: “This will leave a permanent scar on his scalp.”
Harvie Diamond, defending, said Crawford “accepts it is a serious offence.”
Crawford, of Grangemouth, was granted bail and a football banning order is being considered.
