Celtic Park undergoing summer makeover as photos reveal first look at new Parkhead banner

Celtic's Parkhead home is set to be decked out in new banners ahead of an exciting season for the Premiership champions.

Their stadium exterior has gone down a notch in appearance over the last few weeks after impressive artwork documenting iconic moments and figures in the club's history was brought down.

Celtic legends Tommy Burns, Martin O'Neill and Wim Jansen all featured on it but some had began to point out that it was looking tired. Giant banners were eventually removed at the end of last season.

New photos have emerged of construction works beginning to put up the new banner ahead of the Premiership season beginning against Aberdeen on July 31st. Before that though, the Hoops will entertain a friendly with English Championship side Norwich City on Saturday. Celtic's Supporter Liasion Officer John-Paul Taylor has also confirmed the Parkhead refashioning as they look to get in top shape for big nights ahead.

Champions League group stage football is coming back to Glasgow's east end, and some of the game's biggest names may come to face the Hoops.

That was secured with last season's Premiership title win during a fantastic first season in charge for boss Ange Postecoglou.
