Celtic are on alert after Fabrizio Romano provided an update on the future of Jeremie Frimpong.
The Dutchman joined the Parkhead side in the summer of 2019 from Manchester City.
Frimpong turned out to be a roaring success in Glasgow's east end, making 51 appearances in green and white and winning a domestic treble along the way.
The now 24-year-old eventually departed the club in January 2021 for current Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen.

The attack-minded full-back has only improved since making the switch to Germany, and after nearly four and a half years at the BayArena, he could be set to move on this summer.
Indeed, renowned transfer guru Romano took to X earlier today to provide an update on Frimpong's future: "Jeremie Frimpong remains one to watch in the summer," he said.
"Dutch right-back could leave Leverkusen in the summer with many clubs interested.
"The clause in his contract is worth a fee of around €40m."
When Celtic sold Frimpong to Leverkusen just over four years ago, chiefs inserted a clause in the deal which meant the club would receive 30 per cent of profit on any future sale of the player.
That means that if Frimpong departs his team for the reported €40m release clause this summer, given Celtic sold him to Leverkusen for €11m [Transfermarkt] in 2021, they will receive around €8.7m (roughly £7.3m) as part of any transfer this coming off-season.
Those at Parkhead will be keeping a close eye on the future of their ex-right-back as they look to boost the coffers.
