Celtic No2 John Kennedy 'could be set' for stunning Hoops exit for foreign managerial gig

Celtic No2 John Kennedy could be set for a stunning Parkhead exit, according to reports.

It is claimed the highly regarded assistant boss is a shock contender to land the vacant FC Midtjylland gig in Denmark after the sacking of Bo Henriksen. The Scottish Sun also report the 38-year-old - who has spent the past eight years as first team coach, assistant and caretaker boss at the Hoops - would be prepared to consider an offer from the European side.

Midtjylland defeated AEK Larnaca in the Champions League second qualifying round but that wasn't enough for Henriksen to save his job. Portuguese giants Benfica fired four past the Danes last week in the third round to take a commanding 4-1 advantage into the second leg tie. They have picked up one win, two draws and one defeat and already trail early league leaders FC Nordsjaelland by seven points.
